Discover the power of global citizenship by attending UNA-USA signature events, engaging in dynamic virtual programming, and participating in local chapter activities. These opportunities connect you with a passionate community of advocates (of all generations), diplomats, and thought leaders dedicated to advancing the mission of the United Nations. Whether you’re looking to deepen your understanding of global issues, network with like-minded individuals, or take action on pressing international challenges, our diverse range of programs offers something for everyone.
The UNA-USA Fellowship Initiative provides American college students, recent graduates, and first year master’s students with opportunities to intern with UN agencies worldwide. By providing stipends to cover the living expenses of UNA-USA Fellows, we are exposing a new generation of young people to career opportunities that encompass all aspects of the United Nations including human rights, peace and security, global communications, AI, and more.
Upcoming National-Chapter Initiatives are focused on making a significant impact on global challenges. Chapters and communities can engage in Global Goals Ambassador week, a week-long event, that will bring together passionate individuals from across the nation to engage in actualizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The UNA-USA Global Goals Ambassador Program provides UNA-USA members with an opportunity to take their passion for a particular Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) and leverage it to develop related programming and communications at the national level to raise awareness and work to advance the SDGs. Ambassadors work alongside UNA-USA staff and other volunteer leaders to promote the SDGs through blog posts and UNA Forum articles, attendance and representation at events, and the creation of national programs.
UNA-USA has a growing network of youth leaders advocating for global progress on the world stage. No matter what global issue you’re passionate about, there’s a way to take action with UNA-USA. There are plenty of ways for young people to get involved, such as the Youth Observer program, the Global Goals Service Resume, the Campus Fellows program, the Emerging leaders fellowship, the Seton Hall summer program, and more.
